JAMB Directs Candidates with Biometric Issues to Write UTME in Abuja
Are you having trouble with your biometrics during registration for the 2023 UTME? The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a directive for candidates with biometric challenges to complete their registration process and take their 2023 UTME exam at the JAMB headquarters in Abuja.
According to the latest edition of JAMB’s bulletin, candidates who encounter biometric issues during their registration process will need to go to the JAMB headquarters in Abuja to complete their registration and take their exam. JAMB is adhering to its “no biometrics, no exam” stance for all candidates taking the 2023 UTME.

In addition to the directive for candidates with biometric challenges, JAMB also announced that all accredited computer-based test (CBT) centers have been empowered for real-time online registration. The board has fixed January 14 as the start date for registration and April 29 as the date for the 2023 UTME. Candidates are encouraged to register at only partnering centers or JAMB offices across the country.
It is important to note that any candidate who ignores JAMB’s directive will not be able to complete their registration. “No CBT center is empowered to register candidates with biometric abnormalities. Such would only be registered and sit their exam at the JAMB national headquarters on the last day of the national exam calendar,” the board stated.
JAMB also stressed that no candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall or sit the examination if their biometrics cannot be verified as the system will not permit or process any examination without biometric verification.
To avoid any delays during the registration process, JAMB is asking candidates to create their profiles on its portal ahead of time. Additionally, the board made it clear that there will be no offline exemption or flight mode registration.
