JAMB Announces the Start Date for UTME Registration
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is responsible for conducting the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in Nigeria. The UTME is a mandatory examination for candidates who wish to gain admission into Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and other tertiary institutions.

The 2023 UTME registration process will begin on January 14th, 2023, and end on February 14th, 2023. Candidates can register for the examination through various JAMB-accredited CBT centers or online through the JAMB website. The board has announced that the cost for registration for the UTME will remain the same as the previous year’s.

Additionally, JAMB has also announced that it will conduct an optional mock UTME on March 16th, 2023, which will serve as a dress rehearsal for candidates ahead of the main examination. Candidates who are interested in taking the mock UTME will be required to pay a service charge of N1000 at the point of registration in order to prevent centers from incurring losses due to low attendance.
Finally, the actual UTME examination will take place on April 29th and end on May 12th, 2023. The board advises all candidates to start preparing for the examination by familiarizing themselves with the examination format and studying past questions.

Candidates seeking Direct Entry (DE) will also have their registration window open from February 20th to April 20th, 2023.
