JAMB 2023: 15-Year-Old Scores Highest Mark in UTME – Breaking All Previous Records!
In the just-concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), Master Lotanna Azuokeke, a 15-year-old student of Bishop Otubelu Juniorate, Trans Ekulu, Enugu, scored an outstanding 99 marks in Mathematics out of a total of 337 marks. The announcement was made by Dr Chiwuike Uba, the Media Adviser to the Bishop of the Diocese of Nike (Anglican Communion), the Founder of the school
Aside from Mathematics, Azuokeke scored 88 marks in Chemistry, 86 in Physics, and 64 in the English Language, bringing his total score to 337 marks. According to Uba, Azuokeke hails from Ọba in Idemmili South LGA of Anambra State and has applied to study electrical/electronic engineering at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN).
Furthermore, Uba revealed that Azuokeke’s excellent performance had set a new record as the highest scorer in the UTME, breaking the previous record set five years ago by Chidera Obi, who scored 329 marks. The Bishop Otubelu Juniorate, which was established on October 6, 2008, with 24 students, has now grown to accommodate 411 students, and the school has consistently recorded impressive results in external examinations such as the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), WASSCE, and NECO.
Uba expressed his pride in the school’s achievements, noting that three students had come out with 11As each in the last BECE examination. He also emphasized that the school was established to contribute to the improvement of education standards, and the impressive results recorded so far are a testament to the school’s dedication to achieving its goals.
