BREAKING: JAMB Begins Release of UTME Results Tuesday
On Monday, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) announced that it will commence the release of results for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. This announcement came after an emergency management meeting held in Abuja over the weekend, and the board has explained that the delay in the release of results was due to the need to ensure that all necessary screenings were completed before releasing the results.
According to the minutes of the meeting, JAMB stated that the mean and standard deviation of the results have been reasonably obtained. However, candidates who encountered challenges during the examination, without their knowledge, would receive a notification for a rescheduled examination instead of seeing their results.
In addition to this, three categories of candidates who missed their examinations have been scheduled for mop-up examinations. This category includes candidates who were verified at their centres but couldn’t sit for the exam, those who couldn’t be biometrically verified, and those with mismatched data. The board has fixed Saturday, May 6, 2023, for these candidates to take their examinations.
JAMB had previously rescheduled the UTME from Tuesday, April 25, 2023, to Tuesday, May 2, 2023, to use innovative methods that prevent examination malpractices. Despite the challenges encountered, the 2023 UTME recorded the lowest cases of reported infractions. Out of the 1,586,765 candidates that registered for the exam, only 80,166 candidates are yet to take the examination.
In conclusion, JAMB has announced that it will commence the release of results for the 2023 UTME on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, and candidates who missed their examination will take their examination on Saturday, May 6, 2023.
Please I’d any hope or plan of helping for candidates who ought to write on Wednesday 26th April 2023 and were rescheduled for 27th Thursday 2:30pm but missed it because They were not aware in time? Because they were asked to write letters of complaints to the registrar. We are still hoping and praying for considerations from the board.
